The Band Lela Dylan Ben
Lela "Cheese" Bayless
Percussion, Lead Vocals, 3rd Chair Triangle
By age 3, Lela had already decided on a professional career of Tele-Market Operator when fate stepped in and took her down another path. Lela was out taking a stroll when a freak wind storm knocked a branch off a tree and bonked her on the head. Deciding that she would get even with the Fates for this insult, she devoted the rest of her life to going about beating things with a stick.

By age 7, she had already been around the world twice whacking things with a stick. Most memorable were: The Golden Gate Bridge, all the rocks at Stonehenge (included the buried ones in the secret chamber below the altar), The Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the Monopoly board when her brother won a game ("The wheelbarrow flew almost 25 feet!" cheerily claims Lela.)

Her parents, now broke from financing these "trips to foreign places to whack something with a stick" decided that perhaps they might be able to "keep the problem at home" by purchasing a drum set for Lela. Fortunately for them, and us, she took to the drums with a vengence.

7 years later and we find Lela has been a member of over 214 different bands. "We just couldn't keep up," says Nikki Sixx from the Band Motley Crue. "We play some pretty heavy [stuff], but she just kept smacking those drums driving us harder. It was, like, the toughest 15 minutes I've ever played guitar. I still hear those drums pounding in my head...I need a drink."

Happily, though, she finally found some musicians that can hold the line with her. This was aided by her concept that if she sings while playing the drums, she can focus more on the music and less on her lifelong quest. However, she has already declared that the money she makes from palying in a band will all go towards financing a trip to outer space so she can whack the Hubble Telescope with a stick.
