Ben spent most of his life being 'Emo'. Dressing in black, wearing the face paint, debating with his Emo friends the merits of drowning, etc. He was the kind of Emo that the other Emos would look at and say "wow, that guy gives me hope" (which consequently meant that the person saying that would no longer be Emo.)

Many years Ben was an Emo, until one fateful day when he realized that he had made a major spelling mistake...for his lifelong hero was not one of depression, but rather, it was "Elmo" from the Sesame Street Show. Once Ben realized this, he gave up the Emo lifestyle. Although, he still enjoys wearing basic black...and rumor has it that one can still find some black lip gloss and eye shadow in his underwear drawer.

He also realized he couldn't be depressed by his longterm mistake, as that would put him right back to being Emo, so he decided instead to forget it all and play bass guitar for a while. The low, rumbling tones he draws from the bass take the place of the dark despair he once felt. Although the almost religious zeal with which he watches "The View" every day seem to help as well.

He now spends his time enjoying the "Elmo" lifestyle. When not playing bass, he likes to sing happy tunes to random animals in a very high pitched voice. It's no coincedence that the local bird population has shown a steady decrease since this began. But this is no matter to Ben...for him happy tunes are MEANT to be sung...loudly...in a high pitched voice...while chasing birds.

What does the future hold for our happy hero of the four strings?? He has been working on a new goal to be the first person to play bass guitar with his nose. To prepare himself he has been steadily training by picking furiously every day.
